For nearly 150 years St John’s Church has been appreciated by numerous people as a location where life events are celebrated. It is a focal point for key seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter, Harvest and Remembrance Sunday. The church building and grounds are open to the public and loved by many in Copthorne village.

The church building has become much more than just a place of worship. Each week it hosts a parent & toddler group, I-Café, various courses, art classes, coffee mornings and other training and social events. It has become a space to connect with others and it provides a space of support and advice to those most vulnerable in our community.

To sustain these levels of activities and to look for opportunities to grow them, we recognise that our current church building may not be suitable enough to meet all these needs. Instead, we want to rethink and re-imagine how to use our building in the best way possible, including meeting our environmental responsibilities. For this we need your help and would like to hear from you.

What is important to you about the church building and how can we improve it? So, have your say…
