PEACE

Prince of Peace, born in a stable

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6)

THINK

Jesus is called ‘Prince of Peace.’ In the stable we first see Jesus as a baby, but He was with God at the beginning of the world, His reign as a prince of peace is eternal and mighty. In moments of quiet or times of rest, we catch glimpses of inner peace.

  • How does it feel to enjoy these moments?
  • If peace is the opposite of conflict, what does the peace of God feel like this Christmas?

PRAY

God of peace, bring reconciliation in my heart. Jesus, be the prince of peace in my life. Spirit of peace fill me with your rest. Help me know your peace this Christmas and share it with those around me.

ACT

This Advent give yourself 2 minutes of quietness every day. Sit in a place you can switch off from noise or distraction and read the words in Isaiah 9:6 (see above). As you read them, let your breath be quiet and slow. When you have finished, pause and smile.
