For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3 v 16)
The lights in the stable represent the way God’s love arrives in our unprepared hearts.
At the centre of the Christmas Nativity scene is Jesus as a baby. This is an image of God’s love being given to the world in a messy, broken stable. It was a place no one wanted to dwell in. It was hidden and unprepared. In the same way God’s love is given to us in our messy, broken lives. He wants to dwell in our hearts and loves to awaken hidden hopes and gifts. We do not need to prepare ourselves. It’s His nature to arrive with kindness in unprepared places!
“Thank you for your love, I welcome your love into my heart this Advent”
