PROTECTING EACH OTHER TO LIMIT THE SPREAD OF COVID-19
In light of the Government guidance around non-essential contact, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have issued advice that public worship is suspended until further notice.
ST JOHN'S CHURCH WILL BE OPEN TO VISITORS BUT NO PUBLIC WORSHIP SERVICES OR SOCIAL EVENTS WILL TAKE PLACE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
We will continue to be church live streaming our services and running courses via our social media channels.
As mentioned St John's church building and church yard will be open from every day for prayer and reflection. Come and light a candle, engage with prayer spaces and pray for our nation.
In order to minimise the risk of infection, small groups and other meetings will be done online. We are still church at this time, despite not being in the building! We will have to think inventively to continue our pastoral care for the church community, remaining together each in our different homes and as one church.
What You Can Do
If you’re able to be visible in your neighbourhood, offering support if you are able to.
If you feel isolated or are struggling at this time and would like to reach out for support, prayer or someone to talk to, we’d love to help. The church is open daily for quiet reflection and prayer, or if you would prefer to speak to someone, just give us a call.
More information on the suspension of public worship services can be found on the Church of England's website: churchofengland.org
